Do Bettas Eat Their Fry and Eggs?

Bettas are one of the most popular freshwater fish for home aquarists and breeders alike. They are also known as Betta or Siamese fighting fish. Although many people keep them as pets, there are thousands of aquarists who do so for their ornamental value and their ability to produce fry in large numbers all year round. Bettas can be kept in smaller tanks or larger ones, either indoors or outdoors depending on the type of environment you have available to you. They are hardy freshwater fish that is easy to keep under most circumstances. Their ability to thrive in a variety of water conditions makes keeping them as captive specimens possible even if you only have a little bit of space available indoors or outdoors. Bettas are bottom dwellers, so they will probably spend more time than anything else in the tank hiding from view and resting rather than swimming around it enthusiastically like other types of freshwater fish might do. Nevertheless, they will still appreciate some lettuce leaves and floating vegetation inside the tank to provide them with some natural cover from time to time without having to hide too much which would make them feel trapped.
